This advanced course is all about confident expression — making Icelandic work for you. We broaden your toolkit to master the past tense: you'll move beyond the "here and now" by learning Past Simple and Present Perfect constructions (hafa + past participle) to share your journey to Iceland and your life experiences. You'll also take on one of the "Big Bosses" of Icelandic: the full four-case system, giving you the confidence to use the right endings in any situation. From navigating the housing market and job interviews to asking a colleague for a favour with polite requests, our characters Monika and Ásgeir provide the practical dialogues you need to handle Icelandic systems independently.
Your teacher is Sandra, an experienced Icelandic language instructor with over 7 years of teaching adult learners, click to learn more about Sandra and the Icelandic AI team.
This course offers 40–60 hours of intensive learning, combining video lessons, exercises, and speaking practice to take your Icelandic to a confident, independent level. You'll reinforce your progress with quizzes and flashcards, get direct access to Sandra through a private learner community, and finish with a final exam, score and certificate.
